AMD FidelityFX ist eine Serie von Lösungen und Featuresets, die Entwickler in ihre Spiele implementieren können, um sowohl die Performance als auch die Bildqualität signifikant zu verbessern. Die wohl wichtigste Komponente ist dabei FSR ("FidelityFX Super Resolution"), die quelloffene Upscaling-Technologie, welche auf RDNA ("GFX101X") und RDNA 2 ("GFX103X"), RDNA 3 ("GFX110X") und RDNA 3.5 ("GFX115X") sowie die neueste GPU-Mikroarchitektur RDNA 4 ("GFX12") optimiert ist. Aber auch Nvidias Geforce und Intel Arc können das Featureset von AMDs FidelityFX teilweise gewinnbringend für sich einsetzen.

Vormals wurde FSR Upscaling schlicht als FSR 4 bezeichnet, was mit dem aktuellen Release von FSR Redstone und der AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 25.12.1 sowie dem neuesten AMD FSR SDK v2.1.0 ab sofort nicht mehr der Fall ist. Die neuen Versionsstände und Bezeichnungen lesen sich folgendermaßen:

Alle vier Technologien sind wie FidelityFX Super Resolution ("FSR") 4 zuvor auch schon offiziell ausschließlich auf RDNA-4-Grafikkarten alias Radeon RX 9000 lauffähig, während RDNA, RDNA 2 und RDNA 3 bei FSR 3.1.4 verbleiben.

Die nachfolgenden Spiele unterstützen das neue ML-basierte FSR Frame Generation, bei dem es sich ebenfalls um ein modernes spatiotemporales Verfahren handelt. Die überlegene FSR Frame Generation ("ML") löst die FSR 3 Frame Generation ("Analytic") auf den aktuellsten RDNA-4-Grafikkarten ab, wenn das Spiel das optimierte Verfahren dementsprechend unterstützt.
