Call of Duty Black Ops hat bereits eine Milliarde Dollar erwirtschaftet

Activision hat stolz verkündet, dass Black Ops die Zahlen von Modern Warfare 2 überboten hat. Mittlerweile habe man Kopien von Call of Duty: Black Ops im Gesamtwert von über einer Milliarde US-Dollar verkauft. Damit spiele man in einer Liga mit Avatar. Black Ops biete Inhalte für "hunderte von Stunden". Die Gesamtspielzeit habe sich bis dato auf 600 Millionen Stunden summiert. Activision-Chef Bobby Kotick sagte dazu:

"In all of entertainment, only Call of Duty and "Avatar" have ever achieved the billion dollar revenue milestone this quickly," said Bobby Kotick, CEO of Activision Blizzard. "This is a tribute to the global appeal of the Call of Duty franchise, the exceptional talent at Treyarch and the hundreds of extraordinary people across our many Call of Duty studios including Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer that work tirelessly on the franchise. Our ability to provide the most compelling, immersive entertainment experience, and enhance it with regular, recurring content that delivers hundreds of hours of audience value, has allowed Call of Duty to continue to set sales and usage records."

Der erste DLC First Strike soll am 01. Februar 2011auf der Xbox 360 erscheinen. Der enthält vier neue Multiplayer-Maps und eine Zombie-Map. Für PC erscheint erscheint das Paket zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt, der noch nicht bekannt ist.
