Windows 7 Starter Edition: Microsoft sets hard parameters
The windows 7 starter Edition is a version especially intended for netbooks and similar devices. Now the restrictions for the Starter Edition have been revealed.
Microsoft will offer the windows 7 Starter Edition for netbooks and devices that have a similar low price or performance. This version of the operating system doesn't include the Media Center and you can run only three programs at the same time. According to Microsoft every other versio of Windows 7 will run on a netbook, too, but for them you would have to pay the full price.
Now the parameters for the windows 7 Starter kit have been released. It is allowed to use the low-cost version of Windows 7 only if those specifications are met. Thus Microsoft wants to achieve a strict separation of traditional laptops and netbooks (and similar devices).
