Windows 7: Virtual XP Mode reaches RC status
The Virtual XP Mode of Windows 7 has been brought from Beta to RC status and can now be tested.
New information about the pre-release version of the Virtual XP Mode of Windows 7 has been unveiled in the Windows Team Blog. Microsoft Manager Brandon LeBlanc said that the software Virtual PC 2007 with the virtual machine, including Windows XP SP3, is now ready for testing.
The current package is the Release Candidate. The download, for 32 bit and64 bit, is about 470 MiByte big and compatible to the Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate versions of Windows 7. Microsoft explicitly point out that the Windows XP mode is intended for companies that want to or have to be compatible to older software.
