Quicktime 7.6.2: Ten security vulnerabilities closed
A new version of Apple's Quicktime for Mac OS X, Windows XP and Vista has been released. The update fixes several security vulnerabilities Quicktime had caused in the operating systems.
Apple has closed ten security vulnerabilities in Quicktime that allowed attackers to run malicious code with administrator authorization via manipulated media data like movies or pictures. Two of the ten vulnerabilities related to the Clipping Regions (CRGN) only occurred on the Quicktime version for Microsoft's Windows.
You can download Quicktime 7.6.2 from Apple's website. The software is available for Mac OS X in versions 10.4.11 and 10.5.7 as well as for Windows Vista and Windows XP Service Pack 3.
