Adobe releases patch for Reader and Acrobat 9
Adobe delivered a patch for Reader 9 and Acrobat 9. The update closes the critical security leak that had been announced two weeks ago. Users of older versions still have t wait.
A patch has been released for the version 9 of Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader. This update fixes the security vulnerability that was found about two weeks ago. The leak has been rated very critical and affects the older versions of the PDF program, too. Currently there is no patch for those versions available.
Via the vulnerability malicious code could be executed if an infected PDF file was opened. The patch is only available for Windows and Mac users. Linux users have to be patient like the users of the older Adobe versions.
The patch can be acquired via the automatic update feature or Adobe's website.
