The development of the Internet Explorer 8 took about one year and Microsoft says to have created the fastest web browser. The final version is now available.
According to Daniel Melanchthon, Microsoft Germany, the Internet Explorer 8 needs only one fifth of the system memory its predecessor required. Furthermore the performance and security have been updated.
The Internet Explorer 8 is supposed to fit all web standards for the first time. HTML, XML and CSS are supposed to be integrated correctly. Melanchthon admitted that this had been the case before. Furthermore the performance of the IE8 is said to be better, too and especially on netbooks the lower resource requirements will become noticeable. The most obvious feature might be Webslices, which allows you to get a feed from certain parts of a website.
You can download the Internet Explorer 8 for Windows XP and Windows Vista from Microsoft's servers. In windows 7 the Internet Explorer will be integrated ex factory.
