The genre of racing games is one of the oldest and most beloved sort of games in digital entertainment. Drive as fast as you like without caring for any rules, money or danger of life or health. Measure your skill simply by taking your lap time. Multiplayer games tend to become epic events. No wonder, racing games are still loved by millions. The latest well-known title is F1 2010, one of the biggest Formula 1 hits in the last few years which not everybody liked. Need for Speed Hot Pursuit is soon to come. Generally, what racing games are about is speeding around in fast cars. The Colin McRae Series for example has been offering very beautiful vehicles from the start. Its cars were very detailed and their destruction model was one of the best. DTM Race Driver and the new Race Driver: Grid offer great visual appeal. Both games have been developed by the British Codemasters, which are renowned for making good racing games. But there are some other developers of good racers. A classic is Papyrus, that have become famous for their series of Nascar Racing and Indycar Racing. The Need for Speed series need no further mentioning.
