NFS Shift: Graphics mod features more vehicle details and better reflections - Screenshot update
NFS Shift has been available in Europe since September 17 and the first mods (for instance for better graphics) are already on the way.
User BeetleatWar1977 who already caused quite a stir with his experimental DirectX 10 mod for Race Driver: Grid is currently working on improving the graphics of NFS Shift. Among other things he wants to overhaul the Level of Detail system for vehicles. Furthermore he uses an Environment Mapping mode that is said to allow better reflections.
The graphics mod project for NFS Shift is work in progress, first screenshots can be found in our gallery, though. As soon as we got some news about the mod we will immediately update this article. What do you think about the current graphics? Please tell us in the commentaries.
Update October 13, 2009
User BeetleatWar1977 is still working on his mod for NFS Shift. As a sign of life he published some more pictures worth seeing which we added to our gallery. However, the modification has its limits as far as the partly low resolution textures are concerned.
More about NFS Shift: The cockpits of the game and general information can be found in our article Need for Speed: Shift - 64 cockpits pictured in detail.
