Stalker: Clear Sky - Benchmark tool released
Only recently a benchmark tool for Stalker: clear Sky has been released. The program is easily installed and checks the expected performance in the Chernobyl shooter.
The Stalker: Clear Sky benchmark tool is about 380 MiByte big and can be installed without the original game. You can download the program at cs.stalker-game.com for example.
After you have installed the game you can choose resolution, renderer and the overall detail level. Users running Windows Vista can also choose between DX10 respective DX10.1 with MSAA and additional TAA. The later one was introduced with Patch 1.5.07and delivered in combination with DirectX 10.1 noticeable better graphics.
The test itself is a flyby through the level Marshland, so it isn't fully comparable to the real game. The benchmark consists of four runs - one in daylight, one at night, one with rain and one at the crack of dawn inclusive challenging Sun Shafts and God Rays. The results are graphically displayed and besides the average fps the tool also records the minimal and maximal values.
