Fireburst - First racing game with Unreal Engine 3
The fun racer Fireburst is not only lots of fun but looks fantastic as well thanks to Unreal Engine 3.
Fireburst - the name is its motto. The most important game element of this racer is the fire boosts which make vehicles burn, blow rivals up or sweep them off the track. The single player mode offers a campaign as well as Quickraces and Challenges. We liked the split screen multiplayer mode best which reminded us of Destruction Derby. In five arenas you blow up to three fellows up.
From the technical point of view Fireburst was convincing as well. The developers of Exdream Entertainment focus on Epic's Unreal Engine 3 but modified the Deferred Renderer: Due to Color Bleeding colors look luscious and graphics more realistic. The same applies to HDR and Tone Mapping. Instead of using Epic's standard illumination or Beast by Illuminate Labs Fireburst uses the brand-new Masslight. Fire and water effects are astonishing, especially the heat haze, the flames and the drops of water that run down the camera.
In contrast to the Xbox 360 version the PC game will offer a higher rendering solution as well as sharper textures and MSAA.
