Will Wright leaves EA and joins the Stupid Fun Club
Will Wright, cofounder of Maxis and creator of The Sims, leaves EA for the Stupid Fun Club. The company, which he founded in 2000, develops new ideas and brands.
The legendary developer Will Wright leaves his former employer EA and will be working for the Stupid Fun Club. Nevertheless he won't be fully deleted from EA's payroll since the software giant bought shares of the Stupid Fun Club.
Will Wright, cofounder of Maxis and creator of several simulation games and The Sims, also founded the Stupid Fun Club in 2000. The target is to develop new concepts and brands in the computer games, TV and internet markets. EA and Will Wright hold equal shares of the Stupid Fun Club. EA will have an exclusive option to use the results of the Stupid Fun Club's developments - if EA is not interested, other companies can get access.
The last of Will Wright's project was Spore which was selling quite good although it received average ratings only.
