Modern Warfare 2 US banned in Germany
Today it has been announced that the US version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has been banned in Germany. The same applies to the EU version of Left 4 Dead 2.
The BPjM (Bundesprüfstelle für jugendgefährdende Medien) informed that the US version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and the EU version of Left 4 Dead 2 (both games for the PC platform) have been put on the primarily list of banned media. The German versions of both games are not affected by this. Also, the console versions may be sold until further notice. Interesting enough, the UK version of Modern Warfare 2 PC and the US version of Left 4 Dead 2 are not banned at the moment. Due to this ban it is prohibited to sell the US version of MW2 and the EU version of L4D2 publicly to customers younger than 18 years or to advertise them. The decision was made on November 25, 2009 and comes into effect on December 1, 2009. As for Modern Warfare 2, the airport scene (which is kinda left out in the German version) is probably the main reason for the ban.

Just recently PC Games Hardware reported about the decision of Sega that the forthcoming Aliens vs. Predator will not be released in Germany in order to prevent the action game from being banned.
