In the official forum EA's Chris Cory gave the details of the Command and Conquer Red Alert 3 copy protection. The new C&C will use a combination of Securom and online authentication.
Command & Conquer – Red Alert 3
Like several prior games of EA, Red Alert 3 will use the Securom copy protection.
The game will be authenticated when it is installed and started for the first time. After that there will be no re-authentications. Red Alert 3 can be installed and played on up to five computers. If the five tickets are used up, EA's customer support will hand out additional authorizations if contacted. This means if you could not validate the removal of the game, because of major hardware failures for example, you can still install the game again. Furthermore the copy protection doesn't require the DVD to be in the drive.
