Red Faction Guerilla: Bakground
Physics will be important in the new Red Faction: Almost any part of the new gameworld is destructible. Guerilla will offer a new destruction engine that affects buildings. The gamer plays alec Mason, destruction expert on the Red Planet. With remote controlled explosives and a sledgehammer you bring down buildings and structures.
As a technical base for the physics simulation Volition uses a heavily optimized and modified Havok Engine. Among the modifications is a stress system that calculates the destruction of buildings in dependence to the material.
