Engines compared: Operation Flashpoint versus Armed Assault 1/2
Bohemian Interactive released comparative screenshots of the games Operation Flashpoint, Armed Assault 1 and Armed Assault 2, which are based on different versions of the Real Virtuality Engine.
This time travel starts with Operation Flashpoint 1 und the Real Virtuality Engine 1 of 2001. Direct X 7 (Fixed Function), real-time shadows and lighting as well as high-res textures are the important features. 2007 Armed Assault 1 was released as the first game based on the Real Virtuality Engine 2 - Direct X 9 (Shader Model 3) and HDR Rendering included. The Real Virtuality Engine 3 based Armed Assault 2 is scheduled for release in Q1 2009. Direct X 9 (Shader Model 3), Multi-core support, Parallax Texture Mapping and enhanced lighting are planned.
