Futuremark: First game is called Shattered Horizon – based on 3DMark Vantage Engine
At the GC 2008 Futuremark released details about their first “real” game: Shattered Horizon will be a multiplayer first-person shooter that is based on the Engine developed for 3DMark Vantage.
With Shattered Horizon the Futuremark Game Studios want to deliver unique mobility and realistic zero gravity fighting. The handling is said to be easy, the technical base is the Engine of the 3DMark Vantage. That contains an optimization for Physx and multi-core processors. Interesting: Futuremark talks about Windows as operating system – 3DMark Vantage is known for running on Vista only.
The story deals with a disastrous mining accident on the moon. Debris is filling the space between Terra and Luna. Soon the survivors on the moon are starting to fight each other. Additional details can be found on the official website of Shattered Horizon. A release date has not been set, yet. First screenshots in our gallery show the “New Calico” like graphics.
