Need for Speed Shift: More fun than Gran Turismo
Will Need for Speed shift be a direct competitor to Polyphony's Gran Turismo? According to Jesse Abney it won't. Shift is said to offer more fun that the PS3 highlight.
"Shift is going to be about fun, not driving in a straight line. We don't pretend to compete with Gran Turismo for technological achievements as well as what I would call a driving-simulator. That isn't the fun angle we are going after”, says Jesse Abney from Electronic Arts at vg247.com.
So Need for Speed Shift will possibly be more arcade than expected. The developers want to have the players fight for every position in the races - so the fun is most important.
Electronic Arts' Need for Speed Shift is scheduled for release in September 2009 and will be published for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 as well as the PSP.
