F1 2010: Codemasters announces Formula 1 racer with Ego Engine
Codemasters announced that they are working on a Formula 1 racing game called F1 2010 which will be released for PC, Microsoft Xbox 360 and Sony PS3 in mid 2010 and is developed on basis of the proprietary Ego Engine.
F1 2010 will be released as an official Formula 1 game and present drivers such as Sebastian Vettel, Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso as well as all official teams and racetracks. The technical basis is Codemaster's Ego Engine which was also used for Colin McRae: Dirt and Race Driver: Grid. The close collaboration with the Formula One Management and the race teams is supposed to create a "realistic and inspiring experience”. Codemasters wants to develop not less than the best Formula 1 racing games - "independent of the gaming platform”.
In advance Codemasters will release F1 2009 for Wii and PSP in fall 2009 which is developed independent of F1 2010.
More information can be found on Codemaster's official F1 webseite. In the gallery you will see first concept drawings ("Concept Render”) and a few screenshots of F1 2009.
