Fallout Rebirth Mod: RPG classic with Crysis graphics
Fans of the first Fallout might be interested in a Crysis modification that transfers the RPG with the post apocalyptic setting into Crytek's modern engine.
If you don't know the first Fallout 3 or just don't like the twelve year old graphics, you might be interested in "Fallout: Rebirth”. This modification, which is currently developed by the team Devoid Studios, brings the RPG classic to the more modern visual level of the Crysis engine.
Until the modification is finally released the team wants to integrate the following features:
• SPECIAL Charcter Creation System
• Inventory System
• Quest System complete with reputation and character statistics effects
• Looting System with randomised item drop tables
• Character Skills and Perks System
• Full Turn-Based Combat System
• Fallout style 3rd Person Camera
Although Devoid Studios says that currently only 10 percent of the project are done, they nevertheless have delivered the first examples of the new graphics. The comparison pictures below give an impression of the visual differences between Fallout: Rebirth and the original Fallout.
One of the first characters who has been transferred into the new engine is Aradesh:
The HUD has also been redesigned already:
A release date for the modification has not been announced, yet. For more information about the project, take a look at the Fallout: Rebirth thread in the Crymod Forum.
