EA merges Bioware and Mythic
Electronic Arts has announced to merge the two studios Bioware any Mythic. Thus one team is created that is responsible for role-playing games and real-time strategy titles.
Electronic Arts (EA) has announced that Bioware and Mythic will merged into one development studio. The new studio will be covering the RPG/MMO genre. The new boss will be Ray Mazyka, formerly Bioware. Greg Zeschuk, Bioware cofounder, will be responsible for the creative part of the new development studio. The General Manager of Mythic, Marc Jacobs, apparently has quit already. His successor will be Rob Denton, who had been responsible for the operative business of Mythic and was also a cofounder of the studio.
This is the third big adjustment I the game industry this week. ZeniMax bought id Software and THQ launched a big reorganization.
