Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena - Misinformationen about copy protection resolved
Copy protection procedures are an appropriate instrument of the games industry to give software pirates a hard time. However, many times even honest customers have problems and that makes the current protection procedures rather questionable. But that is not the case with Riddick: Assault in Dark Athena.
At the moment news about problems with copy protection spread like wildfire through the internet. Hence it is not surprising that also misinformation occurs sometimes. That just happened with the latest part of Chronicles of Riddick. According to several US forums there will be a rigorous constriction on only three possible installations without any further option of activation.
Michael Röder, PR Manager at Atari, resolves those accusations effectively. We quote his statements:
· There are 3 tokens in order to install the game on 3 different PCs.
· If you want to deinstall the game from one of these PCs and install it later again you do not need any further token - which means unlimited installations on one PC.
· In case you have to reinstall the system of the "Riddick PC” more than three times and you have used up the tokens you get another installation token via the hotline - for free.
Therefore the gamers do not have to worry about not being able to activate the game one day because all tokens are used up.
