Ambx SDK said to become available for developers
Philips plans to release the Software Development Kit of the Ambx software for game developers.
This decision I said to make it easier for developers to integrate the Ambx entertainment system into their games. In addition to the SDK there will be testing tools and sample applications. A support forum will be created, too.
The Ambx system consists of two lamps that emit light of color appropriate to the happenings in the game. Two fans generate an airstream in order to make racing games for example more realistic. Furthermore a rumble pad for the hand rest that vibrates during explosions or if you hit the virtual gravel pit. Two speakers and a subwoofer provide the appropriate background music.
With the release of the SDK on January 12, 2009 the Ambx developers hope for more support for their system says developmag.
