Risen: Developers seem to rely on copy protection TAGES
Risen will definitely have copy protection. At present the most probable candidate is TAGES.
As a spokesman of Risen publisher Deep Silver announced in the forum of worldofrisen.de copy protection actions with Securom and Starforce are definitely excluded. At present the copy protection TAGES which is known from Anno 1404 is under discussion.
In contrast to Anno 1404 TAGES will not be applied to its full extent - online activation will not be obligatory. Only an offline copy protection will be used, a DRM modul is not planned. For playing the game only the original DVD is necessary.
Due to this decision Piranha Bytes and Deep Silver expect a positive community feedback.
