Video: Kingston shows 24 GiByte DDR3 memory in action
At an event memory manufacturer Kingston showed a fully equipped Core i7 system in action bearing 24 GiByte DDR3 memory.
At the presentation a Core i7 System with six 4 GiByte DDR3 modules was used. Kingston ran all in all 9 Virtual Machines each one running Windows to maximize the memory usage. Thus almost 21 GiByte memory had been in use.
In the configuration as they had been used at the presentation the six 4 GiByte modules represent a pre-production value of $2,000. The introduction to the mass market is scheduled for late 2009.
