Firefox 3.0.1 removes security gaps
Firefox 3 ist noch nicht lange auf dem Markt, nun schieben die Entwickler mit der Version 3.0.1 ein Sicherheitsupdate nach.
The update resolves problems when printing web sites and a bug that caused Firefox to start in offline mode on Linux even though a connection to the internet is available. Another thing fixed: a security gap, which allowed the execution of malware via the CSS features of the browser.
Another bug that was related to the MAC version only, is history, too: manipulated GIF files could be used to crash the browser or run malware. The third security gap fixed, enabled attackers to open web sites via a command console, even if the web browser was not running.
The latest Firefox version is either available via the automated update feature of the Browser or as a download. The update is recommendable to all Firefox users.
