Sony Vaio P Series: New mini notebook hands-on
Today a prerelease sample of Sony's new P Series arrived at our office. We got some pictures and basic information.
We are currently are running some tests on the prerelease sample of the Sony Vaio P Series notebook we received today. Until we can deliver some benchmark results, we have some pictures and details for you.
The devices of the P Series are powered by an Intel Atom CPU with 1.33 GHz and have 2 GiByte RAM. The 8 inch display has a native resolution of 1600 x 768 pixels. Depending on the selected variant, the notebooks come with different storage devices. Besides a 60 GByte HDD two SSDs with capacities of 64 GByte or 128 GByte are available. With its dimensions of 244 x 119 x 20 millimeters the Vaio P Series even fit into jacket pockets giving them an advantage to other netbooks with similar hardware equipment.
In matters of expansion slots the P Series offers USB (2x), card reader slots for SD cards and the Memory Stick Pro as well as a headphone port. Furthermore WLAN (IEEE 802.11 b/g/n) and Bluetooth are available.
The Sony Vaio P Series can be preordered for at least 899.99 US-Dollars at the official product page. Additional equipment like a larger capacity battery is available, too.
