Eee Keyboard: Asus announced prices and availability
At the Cebit Asus released additional details about the Eee Keyboard. Prices and availability were announced and the hardware was introduced.
At the CES in Las Vegas Asus showed the Eee Keyboard for the first time but didn't give any further information. This has been made up for on the Cebit: InMay/June the Eee Keyboard will hit the markets for $400 to $600.
The keyboard with built-in display weights about one kilogram and is equipped with an Intel Atom N270 (1.6 GHz). The N330 dual-core version will be available, too. The remaining components are quite familiar: 945GSE chipset, GMA950 graphics unit and ICH-7-M Southbridge. Data can be stored on a 16/32 GByte SSD.
The five inch touchscreen has a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. If necessary a TV or computer display can be connected via HDMI or Sub-D. Furthermore the Eee Keyboard offers connectivity via USB 2.0, WLAN N Draft, Bluetooth 2.0 and RJ45 Ethernet. Two speakers and a microphone are also integrated. The operating system is windows XP.
