Enermax presents the prototype of a 1,100 watt PSU with a high efficiency
At the Cebit Enermax revealed a 1,100 power supply unit that is said to easily reach the 80 Plus specifications.
The pre-production sample of the Enermax EG1100 is on display at the Enrmax booth at the Cebit. According to the company the device will have a unique efficiency. At 115 volt the sticker says that the PSU reaches an efficiency of 91.24 percent (12V; 1,100 watts @ 50 degrees Celsius; typical workload).
PC Games Hardware was able to take a picture of the specification label and thus got some more details. It is interesting to see that the 91.24 percent were reached at an input of 616 watts - at an input rate of 1268 watts the efficiency is 88.26 percent.
When the EG1100 PSU will hit the markets has not been told, but we estimate that Enermax will introduce it in the first half of the year. PC Games Hardware will of course test the power supply unit as soon as we can get our hands on a sample.
