Need for Speed: Shift, Nitro and World Online announced
Since Need for Speed: Undercover Electronic Arts is working on three NfS games: The new brands Shift, Nitro and World Online are intended for different racing gamers.
Need for Speed: Shift will be released foe PX, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, while Need for Speed: Nitro is Nintendo Wii and DS only. Need for Speed: Worlds Online is developed for the PC exclusively. The three NfS series are intended for simulation, action and arcade racing. According to EA each game is developed by highly specialized teams.
Need for Speed: Shift (Fall 2009)
EA says that NfS Shift is developed "by race drivers for race drivers” The first screenshot emphasizes the plan to deliver realistic races. Shift is developed by Slightly Mad Studios in cooperation with the Executive Producer Michael Mann from Black Box and Senior Vice President Patrick Soderlund from EA Games Europe. Slightly Mad Studios already worked on GT Legends and GTR 2.
Worth mentioning: the First Person Cockpit camera and the new crash mechanics.
Need for Speed: World Online (Winer 2009)
NfS World online will be a free racing game. The access to licensed cars, parts and game modes will be available to Asian players at first. Focus is on car tuning and online gaming. EA Black Box and EA Singapur are responsible for the development.
Need for Speed: Nitro (Fall 2009)
The arcade game is aimed at the Wii and DS fans. Nitro is intended for casual gamers and is developed by EA Montreal.
