Windows XP Service Pack 3 will be released to Automatic Update soon.
Up to now the patch package had to be installed by hand. Administrators, who wanted to prevent the installation, had to use the Service Pack Blocker Kit that was provided by Microsoft. To enable the automatic download, the update feature has to be activated, of course.
Among the MMC (Microsoft Management Console) version 3.0 there are also the WLAN encryptions for WPA2, the Network access Protection (known from Vista) as well as several other patches, part of the download. The Internet Explorer 7 has to be downloaded separately.
