Mass Effect 2 with Eyefinity problems - Patch under construction
Mass Effect 2 has been released earlier this week and has become quite popular. The good overall impression is nevertheless suffering from minor problems.
The second part of the Mass Effect trilogy has been one of the most anticipated games of the past months. Now that it has been released Mass Effect 2 got a lot of positive feedback from the fan community. But there are also some problems that annoy the customers.
At first the Cerberus Network access for some Collector's Editions didn't work properly and now there is information that Mass Effect 2 is not working correctly on Eyefinity multi monitor setups. Several screenshots that have been posted by users in the Widescreen Gaming Forum and the Bioware Social Network reveal that the game cuts off the upper and lower edge of the pictures to realize extreme widescreen resolutions. Dragon Age: Origins, Bioware's extremely popular fantasy RPG, suffered from similar problems until the developers delivered a patch to fix some of them.
PC Games Hardware contacted publisher Electronic Arts and AMD to get some detailed information. We have learned that they are aware of the issue and that the developers at Bioware and AMD are already working on a solution. Currently there is no information on when the fix will be released. PC Games Hardware will keep you up-to-date.
