Asus officially releases the Rampage II Gene
The Rampage II Gene offers a socket 1366, X58 chipset, six DDR3 slots and two PCIe 2.0 x16 slots on a microATX sized board.
With the Rampage II Gene Asus adds another product to the Republic of Gamers series. The microATX motherboard has now been officially introduced. In late March the Gene is said to become available for about 260 Euros.
At the Cebit 2009 in Hannover, Germany, we already had a chance to take a look at the board and we also received a retail version of the Asus Rampage II Gene. The most important features are the microATX format as well as the combination of the socket 1366 and the X58 chipset. Thus a lot of power can be concentrated in a small system.
