More P55 motherboards by Gigabyte, Jetway and Biostar at the Cebit
At the Cebit three more motherboards with P55 chip for Intel's coming middleclass CPUs (possible name Core i5) have been presented. They reveal new details for the multi GPU support.
Like MSI's G9P55-DC the Jetway P55 board HI05 offers three graphics slots. The amount of the lanes is unknown. Biostar shows the Tpower I55 with two x16 slots. If they offer 16 lanes each during operation of two graphics cards is not sure. Biostar furthermore confirms that the Tpower I55 only supports Crossfire X. For SLI support an additional chip might be necessary. The Biostar motherboard offers a slot for NAND Flash.
Gigabyte's GA-HD is a micro ATX board which is obviously thought for HD ready HTPCs. Accordingly the GA-HD has a DVI and a HDMI port. If socket 1160, 1156 or socket 1155 will be used is unknown. Biostar is the only manufacturer that reveals an approximate release date for the P55 motherboard: It should be available in Q3 2009.
