Nvidia is said to provide chipsets for Intel's processors for the sockets LGA 775 and LGA 1156.
After a long time Nvidia is supposed to introduce new chipsets for Intel processors again. The MCP89 is intended for the socket LGA 775 and will offer an integrated graphics unit with DirectX 10 support, a FSB of up to 1333 MHz and support for dual channel DDR3-1333.
According to HKEPC there will also be an Nvidia chipset for the socket LGA 1156. Intel's new processor technology to integrate the memory controller into the CPU has to be licensed by Nvidia and has already caused disputes between the two companies. If this conflict about licensing disagreements has been solved now, is not clear yet. But if Intel doesn't give Nvidia the required license, a Nvidia chipset for the LGA 1156 is impossible.
