The first final P55 motherboard has reached our office: The Asus P7P55D Deluxe offers several clever features and useful accessories.
The P55 chipset of the P7P55D Deluxe is placed under a big but flat heatsink. Three PCI Express x16 2.0 slots are located next to the cooler but only one of them is connected with 16 lanes. If multi GPU setups are used, each graphics card has access to eight lanes. For the P7P55D Deluxe Asus uses the same system for the memory slots that is already used on the Gene motherboards - it allows the user to install and remove the memory modules faster. The motherboard also has three switches that cab apparently be used to unlock higher voltages for the RAM, the P55 chip and the CPU.
For overclockers the range of delivers includes a small cable remote which can be used to increase the reference clock, load or save OC profiles and configure the energy saving mode EPU.
A price for the Asus P7P55D Deluxe has not been issued yet.
