For the first time in the company's history, Asus is in the red for the first time. The financial crisis is supposed to be responsible for the quarterly losses.

Due to the economic crisis the demand for PC has decreased. According to Asus this is the reason for the company's losses. Furthermore too high stocks of notebooks and LCDs as well as the currency fluctuation of the Euro have contributed to that situation.
In order to be in the black again Asus wants to initiate cuts. Particularly executives and managers are supposedly affected.
