Asrock Supercomputer: Low-priced basis for Core i7?
The motherboard producer Asrock who is known for low-priced devices has a board for the Intel Core i7 at the ready. It is called "Supercomputer”.
With six DDR3 slots and support for CrossfireX and SLI the Supercomputer is on the same level as other X58 motherboards. Four PCI-Express x16 slots and three PCI slots are available for additional plug-in cards. Furthermore there are six SATA and one E-SATA connectors as well as one Firewire and two gigabit LAN ports. The board also offers 7.1 surround sound.
We already reported about the high prices of X58 motherboards, but the Asrock Supercomputer could be the first board to aim for lower prices, since Asrock is known for low-priced motherboards.
