AMD 760G: New entry level chipset for AMD2+ motherboards
The new AMD chipset 760G with the correspondent Northbridge is coupled with the SB710 Southbridge.
Contrary to the integrated Radeon HD 3200 graphics unit of the 780G, the Radeon 3000 on the 760G motherboards does not offer acceleration for HD videos and the performance is lower. The digital signal output via DVI or HDMI is kept though.
The feature list contains Hypertransport 3.0 and PCI-Express 2.0. The SB710 Southbridge offers six SATA ports which can also be run as eSATA.
Motherboards with the 760G chipset will cost around 55 to 75 Euros. Pictures of the first boards Asus M3A76-CM, Biostar A760G M2+ and Elitegroup A760GM-M3 (V1.0) can be found in our gallery. Heise Online expects that equivalent AM3 motherboards will be released soon.
