Core i5 Cooler, Freezer Xtreme Pro and Megahalems: CPU coolers at the Cebit
At the Cebit there already are coolers for Intel's forthcoming Core i5 on display.
Although the name Core i5 has not officially been confirmed yet, but the first coolers for the according socket 1155/1156 are already on display at the Cebit. The distance between the holes for the CPU bracket will be a little closer together than it is the case with the socket 1366, but is still bigger than the distance of the socket 775. So new mounting systems are required.
Arctic cooling presents the successor of the Freezer Xtreme which is called Freezer Xtreme Pro. It will become available in two to three months. Furthermore the cooler will be compatible to all current sockets including 1366 and 1155/1156. The maximal heat capacity of the Xtreme Freezer Pro is said to be 160 watt.
Asus' Troy Square is said to be able to deal with up to 180 watt, but Core i5 support is not announced yet. In our gallery you can find more new coolers like the Megahalems and a new Cooler Master model.
