OCZ announces Core Series SATA2 SSDs
On their website the memory specialist presents the Core Series Solid State Drives.
OCZ combines a slim design (2.5 inches) and the low weight of only 77 gram with modern flash technology. The SATA2 equipped SSDs achieve, according to the producer, a reading speed of 120 to 143 MByte/s, the writing speed is said to be 80 to 93 Mbyte/s. In combination with the access time lower than 0.35 milliseconds, the Core Series is said to be the fastest SSD on the planet - with halve the energy consumption of comparable devices. Additionally the MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) is 1,5 million hours and OCZ gives a two years warranty.
The OCZ Core Series consist of the models with 32, 64 or 128 GiByte capacity. The recommended retail price is said to be $169, $259 respectively $479.
