OCZ introduces its Z-Drive - SSD storage for PCI-Express
Like Fusion-IO-Drive manufacturer OCZ also wants to offer a SSD Flash based storage device for servers and high end users and therefore announces the Z-Drive.
OCZ's Z-Drive will offer a raid controller and 256 MiByte cache. The storage drive will be available with 250, 500 and 1,000 GiByte. In comparison to other similar solutions prices are said to be very moderate.
As usual with SSD Flash memories the Z-Drive will offer very fast response times. Depending on the version the Z-Drive will offer a write speed between 300 and 480 MiByte/s and a read rate between 450 and 510 MiByte per second.
Prices and release date are still unknown.
