In the context of the Green IT wave and the focus topic of the Cebit Fujitsu-Siemens presented the Zero Watt PC in Hannover. In off-state the system consumes no current at all but it still can be administrated.
The Esprimo series shall also consume no current during idle state. So the turning off of the front button, the power supply or the extension lead is not necessary. The remote access for system administrators is possible by setting up corresponding time-frames in which the PC wakens up and is able to receive commands. During operation the PC is supposed to be extremely saving as well. Therefore Fujitsu-Siemens uses power supplies with an 89 percent efficiency.
From summer 2009 the models Esprimo E7935 and P7935 will be equipped with the zero Watt function.
