Vaporware Awards 2009: Wired introduces the losers of the year - without Duke Nukem
Which products had been announced for 2009 but didn't hit the markets because they were delayed or even cancelled? Wired presents the Vaporware Top 10.
For twelve years Wired has presented the winners of the so called Vaporware Awards. The editors of wired.com have chosen the Top 10 products that had been announced for 2009 but have not hit the market yet. For their selection they took into account all the suggestions the users had send in via mail, comments or Twitter.
Valid candidates are software, hardware and multimedia products that had officially been announced for this year, but have been delayed to at least 2010 or haven't hit the markets because of whatever reason. Products that had only been rumored to be released in 2009 were not included. More information is available at wired.com.
By the way: Duke Nukem wasn't allowed to "participate” because developer 3D Realms had to close down this summer and Take Two, current owner of the rights of the franchise, did not make any official announcements yet.
