Giga: Gaming TV channel is ceased
After ten years of television broadcasting the German video gaming channel Giga is closed. Since 1998 the TV channel dealt with games and computers.
According to Giga CEO Stephan Borg the reason for the discontinuation of the television broadcast is related to the fact that the company Premiere, which owns Giga, wants to focus on its core field of operations. In cooperation with Premiere Giga had been re-launched in August.
One of the core problems had been the decline of the advertisement income which also affects other television networks - the tense economical situation is said to have had its effect, too. More information can be found at the Giga website (German).
