Noticeably lower attendance at the CES
The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) gives a positive feedback: Regardless of fewer visitors the CES had been a success.
One of the biggest trade shows for electronic entertainment is over. The CES in Las Vegas closed its gates and first estimations say that 110,000 visitors had been on site. Last year 140,000 people came to Las Vegas though.
Nevertheless the CES regards the result to be positive. More than 2,700 exhibitors had been on site, with 300 new among them compensating the cancellations. The attendance was also pleasing, says welt.de, and the CES wants to keep this level. Quality instead of quantity is the motto. All in all about 20,000 products had been on display, with highlights like Windows 7 and Palm's smartphone.
