GTA 4 (PC): Graphics cards benchmarks at Hardspell
Our colleagues at Hardspell checked the performance of several graphics cards with the internal benchmark tool of GTA 4 (PC).
Ten graphics cards - four Geforces and six Radeons - have been tested for their GTA 4 performance by Hardspell. For the benchmarks they used the integrated tool of GTA 4 and comparatively moderate video settings. The test system consisted of an Intel QX6800 overclocked to 3.2 GHZ and 4 GiByte RAM. The operating system was Windows Vista 64 bit.
But the results of Hardspell have to be taken with a pinch of salt, since the integrated benchmark doesn't really represent the actual game. The sequence doesn't offer a far range of visibility nor many cars or pedestrians. Our CPU benchmark review furthermore reveals that GTA 4 is extremely limited by the CPU, the graphics card isn't really crucial - especially when texture and render quality aren't set to the maximal as it is the case in the Hardspell tests.
