PCGH Radeon driver review 2.0: Crysis & Co combined with three operating systems
Our new test systems are running - time for an update our driver review with fresh benchmark and the recently released Catalyst 8.5.
The test systems of PCGH got modernized. From now on we can use a new chassis, which even allows us to use SLI properly. For this we took an Asus P5N-D with an Nforce 750i SLI chipset, a powerful Core 2 Duo E8500 (3.17 Ghz) and two 2.048 MiByte DDR2 (5-5-5-15) memory modules. Power is supplied by an Enermax Modu82+ with 625 watt. For our, from now on, monthly driver review, we added a Radeon 3870 with 512 MiByte VRAM.
For this review we are going to use the Catalysts 8.3, 8.4 and 8.5 - all of them got the WHQL signature. Every month the latest driver will be added. We check every driver with Windows XP x86 (Service Pack 3), Vista x86 and Vista x64 (both of them with Service Pack 1).
