PCGH Review: Sapphire Radeon HD 4850 X2
On average AMD's Radeon HD 4870 X2 is the fastest graphics card on the market. It combines the performance of two HD 4870 with 2 GiByte VRAM. Now the gap between the HD 4870 and the HD 4870 X2 is closed. The HD 4850 X2 fits in between.
The Radeon HD 4850 is regarded to be one of the graphics cards with the currently best price performance ratio. Due to CrossfireX it is possible to link two of the cards, too, which in the best case results in doubled performance. This idea is utilized for the HD 4850 X2: It combines two HD 4850 GPUs with two times 1,024 MiByte VRAM on one board. The special thing about this is that it's not an official Ati design. Those companies, who offer such a card, constructed it themselves. We checked if this card is a better solution than two single 4850s. For our tests we used a model from Sapphire.
