Nvidia: Revenue warning for Q4 - minus 40 to 50 percent
Via press release Nvidia announced that the revenue of the current fiscal quarter would be noticeably lower than expected. Nvidia expects a minus of 40 to 50 percent compared to the previous quarter.
The Press release is rather short and doesn't give many details. Accordingly Nvidia expects that the currently running fourth quarter (fiscal year 2009) will be much weaker than predicted. In Q4/2009, which ends on 25 January 2009, the revenue will be 40 to 50 percent below the previous quarter.
This means that Nvidia will reach revenue between 598 to 641 Million US-Dollars, since the company reached 897.7 Million US-Dollars in Q3/2009. As reasons for the losses Nvidia names the low customer demands and that the board partners cut down their inventories.
Nvidia will hand in the final numbers for Q4/2009 on February 10, 2009. Then information about the profit and the dramatic revenue loss will be made available, too.
